Residents have an opportunity to gain experience in a number of administrative capacities during their training. These include the department's education and quality assurance committees; the hospital’s various committee including MUSC Ethics, Quality Council, Hospital Infection Control, P&T, Medical Records and Hospital Blood Usage, Tissue and Autopsy Committee.  Residents are also encouraged to participate in committee assignments within the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, the ASA House of Delegates , and the State Society of Anesthesiology in South Carolina.
