Evaluation

To ensure acquisition of adequate knowledge and development of appropriate technical skills, resident and fellow performances are monitored carefully during the course of training. Formal evaluations by supervising faculty members occur on a monthly basis following respective rotations and weekend calls.  Each trainee is assigned a faculty adviser with whom they are required to meet monthly for the purpose of providing feedback. Residents receive written evaluations of their clinical competence and educational endeavors on a quarterly basis, which is signed by the Chair of the Clinical Competence Committee, the Program Director, the resident and their advisor. The semi-annual evaluation by the Clinical Competency Committee is forwarded to the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), which grants credit for training.
