Dr. Pearon Lang, Jr., a Virginia native, graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School and went on to do an internship at Washington University and a residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan. He did a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at George Washington University and the University of Wisconsin where he studied under Dr. Frederic Mohs. He is currently Professor and Director of Cutaneous Oncology and Dermatologic Surgery in the Department of Dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also holds appointments in the Departments of Pathology and Otolaryngology and is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology. He is currently President of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and a Fellow in the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine. He is co-editor for the Yearbook of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and Medical Editor for the Skin Cancer Foundation Journal. He has been voted among the Best Doctors in America and he received the Outstanding Clinician Award from Medical University of South Carolina in 2000. In addition to skin cancer and reconstruction, he has a special interest and expertise in laser surgery, vascular lesions and birthmarks, venous disease, and cosmetic procedures (e.g. peels, Botox, tissue augmentation, liposuction).
