The MUSC Nose & Sinus Center, directed by Dr. Rod Schlosser, treats patients with a variety of sinonasal disorders, including:
- Chronic sinusitis and nasal polyposis
- Sinonasal and skull base tumors (such as inverted papilloma)
- Pituitary tumors
- Cerebrospinal fluid leaks and encephaloceles
- Inhalant allergies
- Septal deviation and turbinate hypertrophy
- Nasal obstruction
- Cystic fibrosis
- Smell and taste disorders
Our approach to these disorders is multidisciplinary, incorporating the expertise of many subspecialties, including:

Physician Education
The Nose & Sinus Center of MUSC is committed to training physicians of all disciplines in the proper evaluation and medical and surgical treatment of patients with diseases of the sinuses. While Dr. Schlosser and others regularly travel around the US speaking and training ENT physicians in the latest medical and surgical techniques, the Department of Otolaryngology also hosts outside physicians and permits them to observe the most modern techniques in our Sinus Laboratory.
