iDevice Setup
Initial Setup
1) You can syncronize music, movies, pictures with only one computer per device, so you'll most likely want to do the initial synchronization (using the included USB cable) with your home computer or whichever one you use iTunes with the most and purchase apps or music/movies on.
2) It is important to have an Apple iTunes Store account set up. This is used for buying and installing free software on the iDevice. If you're already an iTunes user you have one. If not, the first time you install something from the App Store on the iDevice, you'll be asked to set one up.
It is very important if you setup your device to connect to any of the MUSC systems to first set a passkey and remote lock/wipe capability per the following: http://clinicaldepartments.musc.edu/medicine/administration/admintoolkit/Documents/passkey.html
Email, Calendar, Contacts Setup
Open Safari on the iDevice and browse to http://nstwiki.musc.edu/index.php/IPhone_Config . Read the instructions and choose the profile from the bottom that includes Exchange email.
You'll be asked to enter your NetID and password a number of times. The first two pairs set up your MUSCSecure WiFi connection and the VPN. The last set asks for:
email: youremail@musc.edu
username: clinlan\yournetid
password: yournetidpassword
Your email, calendar, and contacts with automatically start synchronizing with the Exchange server over any internet connection.
Citrix Reciever Setup (Webapps)
1) Install Citrix Reciever
Go to the App Store and search for an install the free Citrix Reciever.
2) Click citrix reciever icon and create a new "store" with the following settings
Address: https://mobile.musc.edu (was http://ctxpna.musc.edu)
Domain: clinlan

3) You can now choose to add any applications to your citrix quick access "desktop" by clicking the green + next to them.
4) Pinch and scroll gestures work in citrix sessions you open. The biggest difference is you have to click the icon at the top or bottom of the screen then click the keyboard icon to enable typing. You may also use the Home button to switch back and forth between applications.
