DoM Staff Employee Recognition Program - July 1, 2007

In the spirit of MUSC Excellence, the Department will select up to five outstanding non-faculty employees each quarter and an Employee of the Year.

Nomination Criteria
The DoM encourages nominations based on a thorough description of an employee's outstanding work-related behavior or activities.  Examples include: exceptional effort on a project or activity (hours involved/tasks completed), accomplishments that reduced workload or provided cost-savings to a Division/unit; receipt of a work-related honor; recognition by a patient, colleague or customer; or overall consistent, outstanding customer service/job performance in any mission area (research, education, clinical, administration).

Submission Process and Eligibility
Nominations may be submitted by anyone in the DoM or MUSC via the form below.  However, it is critical  that nominations provide explicit detail regarding the employee's accomplishments.

Eligible employees: DoM staff in all non-faculty categories (i.e. classified, temporary, research grant). 

Non-eligible employees: trainees (residents, fellows, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, etc), faculty, and temporary agency employees.

Nomination Review Procedures
Nominations will be will be reviewed by an internal DoM panel. 

Awards
Employees of the Quarter will receive cash awards. The Employee of the Year will be selected from the pool of quarterly winners and will also receive a cash award.  Please use the form below to submit a nomination.

Employee being nominated:
Accomplishments/Merits of the Nomination. In the box below, please provide thorough, paragraph descriptions of the quarterly accomplishments of the employee. That is, describe: the actions taken by the employee; individuals or program effected; level of performance; and description of the benefit of the actions, etc. The Pillars are listed for guidance only. You do not need to use these headings. A minimum of 2 paragraphs is required.
PEOPLE (specify the individuals affected and outcome)
SERVICE (specify the actions taken and their effect on the customer(s))
QUALITY (describe the level of performance and quality of the outcome)
FINANCE (quantify the cost & describe the benefit of the actions taken (e.g., financial benefit, reduced workload, etc.))
GROWTH (describe how the action enhanced a program area)
