Division of Infectious Diseases.

The Director will lead a Division of university-based faculty engaged in research, outpatient and inpatient clinical practice, and medical education.  The Division provides hospital epidemiology and infection control as part of their primary mission. Faculty and fellows work actively in the hospital and community to assist in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. The Division provides extensive training in clinical infectious diseases to residents and fellows at Medical University Hospital (MUH) and the Ralph H. Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. Rotations include travel medicine, transplant infectious diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, pediatric infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. The Department Chairman has committed significant resources to ensure the Division’s future growth.  The successful candidate will be ABIM certified and a recognized leader in academic infectious disease medicine with qualifications to merit appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor in a tenure track.  Candidates must have a notable record of scientific publication and academic productivity with documented leadership skills and experience.
