Kevin L. Harmon, PA-C

In 1982 Mr. Harmon began his career in emergency services as a firefighter-paramedic in his home town of Montgomery, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati.  He rose through the ranks and by the age of thirty was appointed Director of the Emergency Medical Service.  In addition to his work with the fire department, he was active in many volunteer organizations, on many community boards, and active in the local government.

In August of 2000 Mr. Harmon received his B.S. in Physician Assistant studies from The Medical University of South Carolina.  As class president, he was the first Physician Assistant student to be honored at graduation with The Medical University of South Carolina Student Leadership Award.  

In 2000 he received certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.  During his post graduate year, Kevin worked clinically in Florida at Sarasota Memorial Hospital ER.

Excited to return to Charleston, Mr. Harmon accepted a newly created faculty teaching position in the Emergency Medicine Division in the Level I Trauma Center at MUSC in 2001. In December of 2005 he received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and was promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor at MUSC.

While Mr. Harmon works in the Emergency Division as a provider, he is also active in clinical and classroom instruction.  Additionally, his responsibilities include coordination of the Physician Assistant students on clinical rotations in MUSC’s Emergency Department.  He also serves as the course director of the Physician Assistant concentration in Emergency Medicine. Mr. Harmon’s professional associations include membership in the AAAP, SCAPA, and SEMPA.
