Keith Borg, MD, PhD, FACEP

Keith Borg M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine and Division Director of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at MUSC.  Keith grew up in Irmo, South Carolina and graduated from the Medical Scientist Training Program at MUSC in 2000 with an M.D. and Ph.D.  His thesis studied retroviral gene expression in HIV-1.  He then completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati Emergency Medicine program. Keith has been with MUSC since 2006, coming from Emory University. He was appointed the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division Director in 2013.

Keith’s primary area of focused research involves the identification and treatment of traumatic brain injuries and concussion. Development of research resources and collaborative efforts with other investigators is a high priority of the Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Divisions. Keith also serves as a Level I Representative for the South Carolina Trauma Advisory Council, and is a member of the Lowcountry Regional Trauma Committee and EMS for Children Advisory Committee.
