Pauline E. Meekins, MD, FACEP

Dr. Meekins joined the MUSC faculty full-time in July of 2007.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 and then graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2004.  She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine in 2007 at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA.

Dr. Meekins had a strong interest in Simulation Based Education when joining the group in 2007, and, over the past 6 years, has created and implemented the Emergency Medicine Resident Simulation and Procedure Lab, which occurs on a monthly basis. She has trained medical students, PA students, residents, and pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows within this curriculum. Recently, she was named Co-Director of the College of Medicine's Internship 101 course - a mandatory 3-week capstone course for all graduating medical students which also incorporates simulation into the curriculum.
