Emergency Medicine Interest Group

Director: Jeff Bush   e-mail: bushjs@musc.edu

The Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) of MUSC, exists to provide medical students an understanding of the specialty of emergency medicine and the lifestyle and practice of an emergency physician.  With fifty or more MUSC student members annually, the popularity of our EMIG programs contribute to its consistent rank as the College of Medicine’s largest student interest group.

EMIG activities include:
Procedure labs teaching skills such as:
     airway management,
     intubation,
     laceration repair,
     intravenous catheter placement,
electrocardiogram interpretation and the use of
     ultrasound in the emergency setting

Lecture presentations, including a Wilderness Medicine talk

Ride-along experiences with local EMS
