David Koch, M.D.

Dr. Koch is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina.  

Dr. David Koch is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology.  He earned his B.S. degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University in 1997.  He then earned his M.D. degree from LSH Health Science Center in 2001.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and GI fellowship here at MUSC in 2007. Dr. Koch is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Koch’s clinical interests include Hepatology- Portal Hypertension, Cardiovascular Complications of Cirrhosis, Management of Portal Hypertensive GI Bleeding, Diastolic Dysfunction in Cirrhosis, and Transplant Hepatology.  Dr. Koch is currently in his 2nd year of the Masters of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) program and is working toward becoming a clinical investigator in these areas of interest.
