Adrian Reuben, MBBS, FRCP, FACG
Dr. Reuben is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and the Director of Liver Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Dr. Reuben received his Medical Degree (M.B.B.S.) at the University College Hospital in London, England in 1969; he became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (M.R.C.P.) in 1972, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (F.R.C.P.) in 1990. 

Dr. Reuben is a member of several organizations, including, The British Society of Gastroenterology, The Royal College of Physicians London, The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, The American Gastroenterological Association, The American College of Gastroenterology (Fellow), The International Association for the Study of the Liver, The European Association for the Study of the Liver, The International Liver Transplant Society, The American Society of Transplantation, and The Goon Show Preservation Society.   Additionally, he has been a member of several key committees at the Medical University of South Carolina, including Medical Records Advisory Committee, Marketing Task Force, Research Development Subgroup, Strategic Planning Committee, Transplant Marketing Task Force, University Faculty Senate (of which he was Chair for three years) and President’s Council. He is currently Chair of The Transplant Information System Oversight Committee.  He is on the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation, and is an Associate Editor of Hepatology.

During his career Dr. Reuben has received numerous awards and honors, including  Best Doctors in America: Southeast Region; Best Doctors in America; and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.

Dr. Reuben’s clinical interests include all aspects of hepatology and liver transplantation, with a focus on hepatitis C, portal hypertension, and acute liver failure. His laboratory research investigates hepatic fibrosis and regeneration.
