Lynn Manfred, M.D., Ed.D.

Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics

Dr. Lynn Manfred is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics in the Division of General Internal Medicine.  She came to the College of Medicine as the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Evaluation.  Dr. Manfred received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York in 1979.  She earned her M.D. degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1983.  She did her Doctoral work in Higher Education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Dr. Manfred’s clinical interest is in medical education.  Dr. Manfred has a background in curriculum development which ranges from the first year course Physician, Patient, and Society at the University of Massachusetts, the Pediatrics Clerkship curriculum at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and clinical problem solving content across the medical school curriculum.  She also has experience in evaluation of the National COMSEP curriculum. 

Dr. Manfred served as the Chairperson of the National Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Program Directors Association in 1991-1993.  She served on the Executive Committee of the Pediatric Program Directors Association as the Med/Peds representative in 1991-1994.  Dr. Manfred is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, an Associate Member of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Education and Research Association, the Society of General Internal Medicine, the Academic Pediatrics Association, Counsel on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics, and a member of the Publications Committee of the ACE-Alliance for Clinical Education.  Dr. Manfred practices primary care internal medicine and pediatrics.
