Leonidas Walthall, M.D.

Instructor

Leon Walthall, MD, joined the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics effective July 1, 2012 as an Instructor in the Department of Medicine.  Dr. Walthall attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2004 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 2005.  He went on to receive his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2009 before completing his Internal Medicine residency at MUSC.  As a Medical student, Dr. Walthall founded the Monday Clinic, a student run free health clinic in Dallas. He also spent time in the international medical setting in Africa and South America during medical school and residency.  He looks forward to continuing his research and improving service to the underserved in the community and internationally.  Dr. Walthall has joined the Hospitalist program in the Division of General Internal Medicine.
