Dr. Luciano Costa received his medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1998 and concluded internal medicine and hematology residency in 2003. Dr. Costa was a fellow in Hematology and Medical Oncology at University of Colorado from 2003 to 2006 and simultaneously concluded his Ph.D. from the University of Sao Paulo in 2005. In 2007, Dr. Costa concluded a fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Costa joined the already very successful hematological malignancies and blood and marrow transplantation program at MUSC in October, 2008. His major clinical interests include lymphomas, multiple myeloma and innovative strategies to improve the safety and efficacy of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. he also has great enthusiasm for medical education.
Dr. Costa is a member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
