| Associate Professor Dr. Sherman is a thoracic medical oncologist with a primary focus on lung cancer. She also treats esophageal cancer and other thoracic malignancies. Her clinical responsibilities include providing all medical oncology services for patients seen at the Thoracic Multidisciplinary Clinic. She has five half-day clinics per week at the Hollings Cancer Center. She also serves as the inpatient attending on the medical oncology service two months per year. Dr. Sherman has been the Interim Director of the Division of Hematology Oncology since June 2004. She is also the Medical Director of the Hollings Cancer Center and has held this position since 1998. A large proportion of her time is spent in her administrative roles within the Division and the Hollings Cancer Center. She serves on a number of advisory task force committees. She serves an active role on the MUSC Access and Service Committee whose primary responsibility is to improve communication and networking amongst MUSC physicians and outside physicians. She was also just recently appointed to the inaugural MUSC Trustees Leadership Academy by the MUSC Board of Trustees and the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
