Instructor Valerie Assey RN, MSN is an instructor and clinician in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. Ms. Assey received her B.S. in Nursing from Armstrong Atlantic University in 1980. In 1986, she received her M.S. in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. She was certified in 1995 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical Surgical Nursing from the America Nurses Association (ANA). She is a member of the Coastal Nurses Association and the South Carolina Nurses Association. In 1991 Ms. Assey obtained grant funding through the Ryan White Title II Care Act to provide medical care to Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties for HIV infected individuals and currently coordinates Ryan White Title II funding.
