Camelia Marculescu, M.D., MSCR

Associate Professor

Dr. Marculescu was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. She graduated from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest in 1993. Following a residency in Infectious Disease in Romania, she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine in New York and a fellowship in Infectious Disease at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. There she became interested in orthopedic-related infections.

Following the completion of her Infectious Diseases  fellowship, she joined the Infectious Diseases Division at Medical University of South Carolina and recently finished her Masters in Clinical Research. She has a strong interest in prosthetic joint infections and clinical research in orthopedic related infections.

Outside medicine, Dr. Marculescu enjoys jogging, hiking and ocean kayaking.
