ID Fellowship: ID Transplant Service

Many Infectious Diseases clinicians practice at hospitals that perform solid organ transplants or care for patient who have received transplants elsewhere, therefore it is important for all Infectious Diseases Fellows to receive training in managing infections and differentiating infection from rejection in transplant recipients. The Infectious Diseases transplant service sees patients at Medical University Hospital and VA Medical Center.  The Infectious Diseases transplant service works closely with the heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel or bone marrow transplant teams to coordinate care for these complicated patients.
