Associate Professor Ruth C. Campbell, M.D., MSPH, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. Dr. Campbell graduated from the Creighton University School of Medicine in 1994. She then completed training in internal medicine at the Creighton University Medical Center, where she was also a chief resident. She subsequently completed a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2001. After fellowship, she spent 18 months as a visiting scientist at the Mario Negri Institute in Bergamo, Italy. She returned to UAB, she developed the UAB CKD Clinic and received an MSPH degree from the UAB School of Public Health. Dr. Campbell accepted a position as an Associate Professor at MUSC in October 2010. Her areas of interest are the progression of CKD, delivery of CKD care, sleep disorders in CKD and education. She will be the MUSC Nephrology Fellowship DIrector starting July 2011. Dr. Ruth C.
