Courtney J. Haycraft, Ph.D., received her doctorate and postdoctoral training from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she studied the formation of cilia in the nematode C. elegans and the role of cilia in patterning of the mammalian limb and skeleton. Dr. Haycraft joined the Division of Nephrology in 2007 as an Assistant Professor in the Renal Biology Laboratory directed by Dr. P. Darwin Bell.
Dr. Haycraft's research focuses on role of primary cilia and cystic kidney disease genes in the formation and maintenance of the mammalian skeleton and teeth using mouse models and in vitro techniques.
