Application Process

Positions

MUSC Nephrology has ten (10) ACGME clinical positions and two (2) research track positions.  The clinical track positions are two years and the research track positions are three years (two years research/one year clinical rotations).    Research track positions must be U.S. residents or permanent residents.  MUSC Nephrology will be reviewing applicants who are U.S. residents, permanent residents, J-1 visa, and applicants who are H1-B Visa sponsorship.

There will be two (2) clinical positions available for the Nephrology Fellowship for the 2015-2016 year.

How to Apply

The MUSC Nephrology Fellowship Program accepts applications via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for clinical and research positions.  The application form and all supporting documents must be submitted. 

Step 1:

To apply, visit the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) 

The application requires the following information:
 
  1.  Curriculum Vitae
   2.  Three Letters of Reference
         a.  One of the reference letters must be from the residency program director.

   3.  Personal Statement
   4.  USMLE/COMLEX Scores (USMLE/COMLEX Step 3 must be passed prior to starting 
        fellowship.)
   5.  Medical School Transcript
   6.  ECFMG Certificate

We participate in the Nephrology match each year.  We receive approximately 175-200 applications per year.  Applications must be complete to be considred for an interview.

Step 2:

The applications will be downloaded and the review process will begin on July 2014.  Those applicants chosen to be interviewed will be sent an email through ERAS to call and schedule a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty members.  The interview process will begin in mid-July 2014 for positions beginning July 1, 2015.
