Application Process

The MUSC Nephrology Fellowship Program accepts applications via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) for clinical and research positions on the normal cycle. 

MUSC Nephrology has ten (10) ACGME clinical positions and two (2) research track positions.  The clinical track positions are two years and the research track positions are three years (two years research/one year clinical rotations).    Research track positions must be US residents.

MUSC Nephrology will not be reviewing applicants with H1-B Visa sponsorship.

The following is a list of the items that are needed to complete an application package for fellowship (if not applying via ERAS).  (Unfilled positions and off-cycle positions are required to complete the application attached and provide the  remaining documents.):

Application Requirements:
   1.  Application (pdf file)

  2Curriculum Vitae
   3.  Three Letters of Reference
         a.  One of the reference letters must be from the residency program director.

   4.  Personal Statement
   5.  USMLE/COMLEX Scores (USMLE Step 3 must be passed prior to starting 
        fellowship.)
   6.  Medical School Transcript
   7.  ECFMG Certificate
   8.  Applicant must have completed a U.S. training program in Internal Medicine in good standing

We participate in the Nephrology match each year.  We receive approximately 175-200 applications per year and interview between four to five candidates per slot available.  We encourage you to complete the application requirements listed above to be assured your application will be considered.
