LUPUS PATIENT EDUCATION SEMINARS - Volunteers needed for Fall 2014's Event (email us at email@example.com)
Do you have lupus or are you interested in learning more about lupus?
The MUSC Division of Rheumatology & Immunology and MUSCLE (MUSC Lupus Erythematosus) Group hosts a Lupus Patient Education Event each Fall so that patients, friends, family, healthcare professionals and interested community members can come together and learn more about lupus and how to help manage this autoimmune disease.
Examples of topics covered during the workshops include: Living with Lupus, Understanding Lupus and Finding New Treatments, Lupus and Heart Health, Medication Use During Pregnancy, Childhood Lupus, and Medication Side Effects.
We also have information available on the local lupus support group, research and clinical trials, diet and nutrition, the Prescription Assistance Program, disability, oral health (from the Center for Oral Health at MUSC), and bone health including free bone density screening available at the event.
Lunches are provided for those who register in advance.
