Specifics

Please report to either Dr. Frederick Wilson or Mr. Dallas Ellis (GI Division Business Manager) in 210 CSB at 8 a.m. the first day of service.

The student has the choice as to whether they wish to spend 2 or 4 weeks on the Inpatient Luminal or Consult Service, or the Inpatient Liver Service.  This will be explained in more detail on the first day of service.  In essence, the student works as a member of a team, consisting of an Intern, Medical Resident, GI Fellow, and Attending Physician, who are involved in the care of patients with often difficult problems in gastrointestinal and liver diseases.  The student may attend GI lectures and conferences, observe endoscopic procedures and receive printed information on particular diseases supplied by Division members.

The student is graded by the Attending Physician on the Service which the student has chosen.
