The student assumes the role of a PGY-l house officer. The student is expected to discharge the responsibilities appropriate for that position, including performance of the history and physical examination, providing clinical care and documentation of patients. The student works closely with a supervising medicine resident and attending physician. The student participates in the scheduled conferences offered by the Department of Medicine.

Specifics
The student will be notified via email by Student Coordinator, Mary Ann Snell, where to report for orientation on their first day. Mrs. Snell can be reached at 792-7282 and is located in 807 E CSB.
The student will be assigned to a general medicine ward team either at MUH or the VA. The student will be given a choice as to which site they would like assigned, but we cannot guarantee this site. If you are assigned to the VA please complete all theVA paperworkas soon as possible in order to receive clearance to work at the VA.
The student is graded by the Attending Physician on the Service which the student has chosen.
