Pediatric Radiology

The division of pediatric radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina performs more than 35,000 imaging examinations annually, and provides a wide range of services in support of community physicians and MUSC Children's Hospital from diagnostic exams, including x-rays, fluoroscopy, Ultrasound (US), Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), to image guidance for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Common Conditions

  • Intussusception Reduction
  • Enteric tube placement, including transpyloric and gastrojejunostomy tubes
  • Ultrasound-guided hip aspiration

Medical Procedures

  • X-rays
  • Ultrasound of the head, neck, spine, chest, abdomen, peripheral vasculature and musculoskeletal system
  • Computed Tomography (CT) of the chest, abdomen, pelvis and musculoskeletal system
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of chest, abdomen, pelvis and musculoskeletal system
  • Flouroscopic examinations of the airway, gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts
