Research Programs
The Children's Heart Program of South Carolina performs research directed toward understanding normal cardiac development and the causes of the congenital and acquired cardiac conditions of childhood through laboratory and clinical research. Particular effort and resources will be focused on identifying the processes that lead the heart to develop both normally and abnormally. From this understanding, new treatment strategies will be devised.
