The Section of Musculoskeletal Radiology is actively involved in a number of research projects.  These include:  attempts to find ways to decrease radiation exposure in patients undergoing spine CTs while maintaining image quality; investigating current practices in imaging of pediatric spine trauma and developing alternate algorithms which are more efficacious and cost effective; and, determining the best modalities and protocols for the imaging of articular cartilage.

Dr. Conway is currently serving as the institutional principal investigator for all ACRIN trials carried out at MUSC.
