Musculoskeletal Radiology

CT scanThe section of musculoskeletal radiology is responsible for the interpretation of all musculoskeletal radiographs, CTs and MRIs.  This includes over 30,000 radiographs, 3,000 CTs and 2,000 MRIs annually.  This section is also responsible for the interpretation of spine radiographs, CTs and MRs originating from the Emergency Department, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Rheumatology.  Additionally, the Section of Musculoskeletal Radiology performs a number of invasive procedures including: bone biopsies, spine biopsies, arthrograms (with follow-up MRI or CT imaging), joint injections and facet injections.  These are usually done under fluoroscopic, CT or ultrasound guidance.
