The division of ultrasound performed 13,681 exams last year. We have increased the volume of interventional procedures by 15% since last year, currently 950 procedures have been performed year to date 2008. The types of interventional procedures we offer is variable ranging from lymph node and soft tissue biopsies, to fine needle aspiration of thyroid  lesions and drainages. Each request is individually tailored to the specific concern of the ordering physician. We currently use a GE Volume Image Processing Workstation to post process images, thus improving our efficiency and decreasing the exam times for patients.
