Russell W. Chapin, M.D.

Russell W. Chapin, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Chapin grew up in Aiken, South Carolina and graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004 and received the David B. Gregg Memorial Scholarship and the Thomas Savage Award from MUSC. He completed a rotating internship at Spartanburg Regional Hospital and residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. Chapin was a fellow at the University of Florida's Musculoskeletal Institute for 2009-2010. He practiced with Charlotte Radiology of Charlotte, NC before returning to MUSC in 2012. Dr. Chapin is interested in all areas of Musculoskeletal radiology, including sports medicine, trauma, oncology, degenerative disease of the spine and joints, rheumatology, musculoskeletal manifestations of systemic disease, congenital and developmental disorders, and image guided interventions.
