Maria Vittoria Spampinato, M.D.
Associate Professor of Radiology
Maria Vittoria Spampinato, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Spampinato graduated from medical school and completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Universita' Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy. Following a research fellowship in the intramural program at the National Institute for Neurological Diseases and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland, she completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Spampinato joined the Radiology faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina November 2005 and was appointed director of Neuroradiology at MUSC in 2013. Her research focuses on the use of structural and diffusion MRI in the evaluation of aging, mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
