Vitoria Spampinato, M.D.

Assistant Professor of Radiology

Maria Vittoria Spampinato, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Spampinato graduated from medical school at the Universita` Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy. She completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Universita` Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy. She was a post-doctoral fellow in the intramural program at the National Institute for Neurological Diseases and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland.  She completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. She joined the Radiology faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina in November 2005.

Her primary research interests are functional magnetic resonance imaging, brain tumors, and head and neck cancer. She has presented her research work at major national radiological meetings and has published several peer-reviewed articles and review articles.
