Ali Tabesh, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Radiology
Ali Tabesh, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and his M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran. He then went on to earn his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ.
Prior to joining MUSC, Dr. Tabesh was a Research Scientist at the New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY. His previous experience also includes work as a Research Scientist at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, Orangeburg, NY, and as a Bio-imaging Engineer at Aureon Biosciences, Yonkers, NY.
Dr. Tabesh's training and research experience is in signal and image processing, image analysis, computer-aided diagnosis, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He has served as peer reviewer for a number of leading journals in the fields of signal processing and MRI. Dr. Tabesh's current interests include MRI signal processing and neuropsychiatric applications of MRI.
