Body MRI Rotation
Image of Ab CT Scan

One resident is assigned to the Body MRI service, which interprets all of the thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic MRI studies performed at Rutledge Tower and MUSC. The workload on this rotation is typically 10-20 studies performed daily.

In addition to the 3-Telsa MRI, we have three 1.5 Telsa Philips magnets located at the main hospital and Rutledge Tower. All of this equipment has been updated within the last four years. A Siemens Avanto 1.5T is to be installed in May 2007.

Three recently trained subspecialists in cross-sectional imaging provide resident teaching and supervision of body imaging MR protocols.
Dr. Angelle Harper, Dr. Munazza Anis, and Dr. Andrew Hardie are in the body imaging section.
