Nuclear Medicine
Image of NM Study

The nuclear medicine department performs approximately 11,000 exams per year. Currently we run 5 exam rooms plus a cardiac room. Typically one, sometimes two, residents are assigned to the rotation. A nuclear medicine fellow is also present. Cardiology fellows staff the stress tests.

Responsibilities include protocoling studies, performing drug and tracer injections, and interpretation/dictation. Workload is very reasonable, although checkouts can run late in the day.

Drs. Leone Gordon and Ken Spicer are the nuclear medicine attendings and primary staff for the rotation.
