- A currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates
- A full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction
- The applicant must supply a complete application on ERAS, a curriculum vitae and personal statement, an official medical school transcript, three letters of reference, a Dean’s Letter (as soon as available), and USMLE Part I score.
- The applicant must score above the 50 percentile on Part I of the USMLE examination. Additional exceptions may be made for applicants whose spouse is highly sought after by another department.
- Applications will be evaluated for publications, class standings and GPA, if available, USMLE scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, and the successful completion of medical school in the required time without any deficiencies or failures.
- A maximum of 100 interviews to qualified applicants will be assigned without regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran status. To be selected and ranked, all applicants must present themselves for an interview at a date assigned by the program.
- The final selection process from among the interviewed applicants will be based on the candidate’s academic credentials and personal attributes including work ethic, enthusiasm, motivation, communication skills, willingness to be a team-player, and integrity displayed at the time of the interview. Those qualified applicants will then be ranked and ultimately selected through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
